Survey: 48% of respondents derive satisfaction from blue collar work

According to a 2024–2025 study by Pracuj.pl, 68% of Polish manual laborers are engaged in their work, and 48% find it satisfying. Physical labor was the second most in-demand field on the platform, comprising 17% of job ads. For many, it's a long-term, deliberate career choice—27% have been in the same job for over a decade. Workers prioritize fair pay (57%), a positive atmosphere (42%), and job stability (42%) as key to feeling secure.
However, 50% see no promotion prospects, and 48% lack access to training. Many define career growth as gaining new skills rather than advancing ranks. Respondents value learning, independence, teamwork, and certifications, with better-paying jobs seen as the most needed change ahead.
