Tauron Dystrybucja, part of the Tauron Group, is expanding its MPLS TP (Multiprotocol Label Switching Transport Profile) teletransmission system across 10 branches. The project involves installing 300 MPLS TP devices at power stations and critical locations, supported by PLN 81.19 million in funding, including PLN 39.6 million from the National Recovery Plan (KPO).
The new system will enhance the digitization of the power grid's supervisory network, providing faster and more secure data transmission via fiber-optic cables. Benefits include improved cybersecurity, reduced power outage duration, enhanced energy delivery quality, and real-time data access from smart meters. Remote task management will also improve safety and efficiency for employees, reducing the need for field visits.
