Tauron Focuses On Renewable Acquisitions
Tauron Polska Energia is actively pursuing acquisitions in the renewable energy sector, particularly wind farms. However, Vice President Michał Orłowski noted that it is unlikely the company will acquire projects of the same scale as last year's Miejska Górka project in 2025.
"We are in talks with various entities, mainly in wind energy, at different stages of development, but there are no projects of comparable size or advancement to Miejska Górka available," Orłowski explained.
Tauron is a key player in coal mining, electricity generation, and distribution, covering 18% of Poland's territory. With PLN 42.66 billion in sales revenue in 2023, the company remains Poland's largest energy distributor. It is listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange and part of the mWIG40 index.
