Tensions in the White House: Zelensky Leaves Meeting with Trump Early
A planned meeting between Donald Trump and Volodymyr Zelensky in the White House ended abruptly after a heated exchange. Zelensky left before its conclusion, and the scheduled press conference was canceled.
The discussion, centered on a deal for Ukrainian mineral exports, turned tense when Trump accused Zelensky of not respecting the U.S. and failing to seek peace. Vice President JD Vance criticized Ukraine’s stance, calling it ungrateful for American support. Zelensky insisted that Ukraine seeks a just peace, not merely a ceasefire.
After the meeting, Trump posted on Truth Social: “Zelensky isn’t ready for peace—he can return when he is.” No agreements were signed.
