The average annual budget of Poles for Christmas gifts is 50-100 PLN

According to a pre-Christmas survey, consumers mostly intend to give gifts to between four and five people. It was similar to a year ago. Currently, they are most likely to spend between 50 and 100 PLN on one Christmas gift. And more people are saying this than last year. With the declared number of gifts and the amount, it can be estimated that the average Pole wants to spend a total of around 500 PLN on presents. Moreover, the survey shows that shopping will usually be done in a hybrid way, i.e. partly online and offline. This, in turn, means an increase in the popularity of the multi-channel method y/y. Mainly cosmetics, toys, and sweets will be purchased. Experts commenting on these results already see signs of an impoverished society.
"Looking at the respondents' answers, there is a slight reduction in gift-giving. This may be related to adaptation behavior to the economic situation. Prices are rising, so we can afford less and therefore we have to choose who we give gifts to this year," Dr. Jolanta Tkaczyk, an expert on consumer behavior and head of the Marketing Department at Kozminski University, explained.
