The number of underage debtors doubled in a year
The number of underage debtors amounted to 3,120 in March and doubled from last year, when there were less than 1,400 underage debtors, according to data collected in the BIG InfoMonitor Register of Debtors and the BIK credit information database. The debt amount increased even more - from PLN 0.62 million to PLN 3.56 million.
The most common causes of debt are fines for using public transport without paying the correct fare. Other causes include court liabilities, alimony, and inherited liabilities. The average debt amount is PLN 416.
