The Markit PMI Purchasing Managers' Index of the Polish industrial sector rose to 54.4 points in November 2021 from 53.8 points a month ago, Markit, a specialist economic research provider, said. The expansion in the Polish manufacturing sector has accelerated thanks to faster increases in production and new orders.
"IHS Markit PMI® Polish Industrial Sector - a complex index reflecting the condition of the industry, calculated on the basis of five sub-indices: new orders, production, employment, delivery time and inventories of purchased items, records the second consecutive increase and the highest value since August," the release reads.
Domestic orders rose while overseas orders fell for the third month in a row, Markit pointed out. In November, average production costs increased sharply (fastest pace since July).
"Firms reported that the prices of many goods and services – including metals, fuel and utilities – had risen. Price pressures were still closely related to supply-side challenges," the release continued.
