The coronavirus pandemic has brought tremendous changes to all sectors of the economy. The labor market has re-verified its needs. Employees related to the HR industry and qualified workers are in demand. The unemployment rate in Poland is falling and the number of vacancies is growing. Flexible forms of employment are becoming more and more popular. These are only some of the conclusions from the report of the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development (PARP) entitled ‘Labor market, education, competencies. Current trends and research results’.

The latest data presented by the Central Statistical Office (GUS) and the Ministry of Family and Social Policy show that in September 2021 the unemployment rate dropped in all 16 voivodships. Its value was 5.6 percent. This is 0.2 percentage points less than in August 2021. The lowest rates were recorded in the following voivodships: Wielkopolskie (3.3 percent), Śląskie (4.5 percent) and Mazowieckie and Małopolskie (4.8 percent each), while the highest in Warmińsko-Mazurskie (8.6 percent), Podkarpackie (8, 3 percent) and Kuyavian-Pomeranian (7.8 percent).
