The value of housing loans increased by 17.7% y/y to PLN 8.13 billion in April

In April 2025, housing loan sales in Poland rose by 17.7% y/y to PLN 8.13 billion and by 5.7% m/m, according to the Credit Information Bureau (BIK). The number of loans issued reached 18,600, up 11.6% y/y. However, from January to April 2025, total loan volume fell 17.3% y/y to 68,000, and total value dropped 14.9% to PLN 29.1 billion.
The average loan size hit a record PLN 436,870, up 5.5% y/y, driven by interest rate expectations and a favorable housing market. Despite high interest rates and no active government support program in April, loan sales hit levels last seen in 2021, reflecting renewed market activity and buyer optimism.
