Tusk backs Baltic offshore

Prime Minister Donald Tusk declared Thursday that affordable electricity for households and industry hinges on major offshore wind investments in the Baltic Sea. Speaking at Gdańsk’s Baltic Towers plant—Europe’s largest and most advanced producer of offshore wind turbine towers—he underscored the strategic importance of Poland’s offshore potential. “There will be no cheap power without serious Baltic investment,” Tusk stated, calling offshore wind one of Poland’s key energy priorities. He emphasized the need for domestic production, urging that components for wind energy be made locally. “If Poland is to be a leader in offshore, it must produce here, in Gdańsk,” he said. Tusk’s comments come amid a broader push to strengthen Poland’s energy independence and build a competitive green economy through local manufacturing and infrastructure investment along the Baltic coast.
