Tusk pledges rail revival

Prime Minister Donald Tusk has announced that Poland’s railway network will become the most modern and fastest in Europe. Speaking in Piotrków Trybunalski on the second anniversary of his government, Tusk highlighted rail investment as a key national priority.
“Railway is the apple of my eye,” he said, noting that Poland’s highways are already among Europe’s most modern and extensive. The government now aims to modernize existing lines, build new routes, and reconnect smaller towns such as Łomża and Sierakowice.
Tusk also pointed to progress in tackling inflation, raising wages, and expanding healthcare funding. He emphasized that public investments will continue to favor domestic participation: “Whoever the investor is, Polish companies—large and small—must be part of the project.”
