Two-thirds of new car registrations in Poland are SUVs
Poland registered 305,000 SUVs from January through September, up 19% y/y, while the overall passenger-car market grew 14%, according to Superauto, citing IBRM Samar data. Traditional body styles are losing ground: hatchbacks retain a 17% share of new-car sales, while wagons and sedans have each fallen below 10%. Buyers favor SUVs for their versatility, spacious interiors, elevated driving position, comfort and styling.
The top-selling SUV models so far this year are the Kia Sportage, Toyota Yaris Cross and Hyundai Tucson. Most of the 10 best-selling models cost between PLN 85,000 and PLN 115,000 net, where competition is strongest among businesses and family-car buyers.
