Ukraine asks Poland for loan to purchase Polish weapons

Ukraine has requested a €120 million loan from Poland to purchase Polish defense equipment, Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha told Ukrinform. He stated that the funds would be used to acquire products of Poland’s defense industry, including Piorun man-portable air-defense systems and Krab self-propelled howitzers. Sybiha emphasized Ukraine’s ongoing need for weapons during wartime and expressed interest in joint arms production in both countries as a mutually beneficial effort.
He also confirmed Ukraine’s open invitation for a visit by Poland’s new president, Karol Nawrocki, to strengthen bilateral dialogue. Additionally, Sybiha highlighted progress in historical reconciliation, noting the creation of a joint commission and recent exhumation works in former Puźniki to resolve long-standing issues.
