Ukraine has requested a €120 million loan from Poland to purchase Polish defense equipment, Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha told state agency Ukrinform. Following a meeting with Polish FM Radosław Sikorski in Chobielin, Sybiha said the funds would be used to buy weapons such as Piorun man-portable air-defense systems and Krab self-propelled howitzers. He emphasized that Ukraine, amid ongoing war, continually needs more arms and is also exploring joint defense production in both countries.

Sybiha expressed interest in an early visit by Poland’s new president, Karol Nawrocki, to strengthen bilateral dialogue. He also highlighted progress in historical reconciliation, citing joint commissions and recent exhumation works in former Puźniki, aimed at resolving issues that strained relations for years.
