Unemployment Rate in Poland Rises Slightly to 5.1 Percent in June

Poland’s registered unemployment rate rose to 5.1 percent in June 2025, up from 5.0 percent in May, according to preliminary data from the Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Policy.
The increase surprised economists surveyed by PAP Biznes, who had forecast a drop to 4.9 percent.
At the end of June, 797,000 people were registered as unemployed – 14,200 more than a month earlier (up 1.8 percent) and 34,800 more than in June 2024, marking a year-on-year rise of 4.6 percent.
The uptick in joblessness comes despite expectations of a seasonal improvement and may reflect broader economic challenges or slower-than-expected job market recovery. Final figures will be confirmed later this month.
