Polish universities face growing cybersecurity responsibilities under changes to the national cybersecurity law and the EU’s NIS2 directive. Experts led by the University of Silesia and Silesian University of Technology propose a coordinated network linking institutions through shared standards, threat alerts, and incident response procedures. A proposed national team, CSIRT Nauka, would coordinate support, while regional security operations centers would help universities lacking round-the-clock monitoring.

he Cyberedu program also plans training and educational resources, including a free game for about 1.3 mln students. Experts stress that cybersecurity is a management responsibility and that safeguards must protect sensitive research while preserving academic openness and institutional autonomy.
