VeloBank raised its forecast for Polish economic growth in 2026 to 3.7% from 3.6%, following strong official data for the second quarter. Chief economist Piotr Arak said Poland should remain among Europe’s faster-growing economies this year. The bank expects growth to slow to 2.8% in both 2027 and 2028 as the current investment cycle loses momentum and fiscal constraints become more important.
Arak said 2026 represents Poland’s final opportunity to make effective use of funds from the National Recovery Plan. VeloBank also revised its inflation outlook upward after higher oil prices linked to conflict in the Middle East disrupted what the economist described as a favorable combination of low inflation and solid growth. The bank warned that Poland could encounter the statutory public-debt prudential threshold as early as 2027, increasing pressure on fiscal policy as growth moderates after this year.
