Wage growth in Poland slowed in March

In March 2025, the average gross salary in Poland reached 9,055.92 PLN, marking a 7.7% y/y increase, slightly lower than February’s 7.9%, according to Statistics Poland (GUS). Monthly, wages rose by 5.1%, driven by bonus payouts, overtime, and retirement severance. Average employment in the enterprise sector declined by 0.9% to 6.44 million jobs.
Analysts from Pekao and ING note that the slowing wage growth, combined with low inflation and stable energy prices, strengthens the case for an interest rate cut in May by the Monetary Policy Council. The enterprise sector includes businesses with 10 or more employees and is a key component of Poland’s national economy.
