Wages in Poland grew slower in September
Average gross wages in Poland’s enterprise sector rose 5.9% y/y in September to PLN 9,266.48, slightly below the 6.1% forecast. They edged up 0.1% m/m. Employment fell 0.8% y/y to 6.4 mln jobs, matching forecasts, and declined 0.1% m/m.
Erste Bank economist Bartosz Białas expects wage growth to ease somewhat in coming months but remain above 5% y/y throughout 2027. He also expects employment growth to improve gradually and turn positive before the end of 2027. Pekao analysts said September’s wage acceleration was driven mainly by trade and forestry, where bonuses and possible raises contributed to higher readings.
