Wages up but employment down in enterprise sector

In September 2025, Poland’s average enterprise-sector salary rose 7.5% y/y to PLN 8,750.34 gross, while employment declined 0.8% y/y to 6.41 million jobs, according to Statistics Poland (GUS). The figures matched market expectations, showing stable wage growth but cautious hiring by companies. Industrial production surged 7.4% y/y and 16% m/m, outperforming forecasts of 5% growth. From January to September, production increased 2.7%, compared with 0.2% a year earlier. Producer prices fell 1.2% y/y and 0.2% m/m, while construction output prices rose 2.5% y/y.
The data suggest Poland’s industry is rebounding strongly despite employment weakness, supported by solid production growth and stable wage dynamics amid moderate price declines.
