The consulting company Resonance Consultancy has published the latest edition of the ranking of cities with the greatest "capital of the place", i.e. the image and perception of the quality of life among both residents and tourists.
in 2021, the World's Best Cities ranking was won by London. The capital of Great Britain and a metropolitan area of 12.5 million people has always been considered the "capital of the capitals", but in the face of Brexit, it is negotiating this position. So far, Brexit has not hurt London, and it is the fifth victory in the Resonance Consultancy ranking.
In second place is the unprecedentedly hard-hit American New York, which, according to the report, has a long way to go back to normal. The city of lovers and the capital of France – Paris is in the third position.
Among Polish cities, Warsaw and Kraków were classified in the ranking. Warsaw, with the 71st position, was appreciated primarily for safety – in this classification, it took 21st place, and attractions – 24th place. As Resonance Consultancy wrote, the capital of Poland is the economic center of the country. "It's been decades since Warsaw shed its gloomy Cold War coat." While other EU members have suffered from economic shortcomings in recent years, Poland has flourished and is slowly but surely becoming an economic power in the region behind the Iron Curtain. With additional high-quality architectural designs, new museums, and several Michelin-starred restaurants, the Polish capital is finally becoming a tourist destination.
Kraków is in the 100th position, appreciated for income equality and attractions.
"An affordable, ancient gem of Eastern Europe that you can easily walk around," the authors of the report wrote about Kraków.
