In Warsaw, 16.1% of adults are employed in brain business jobs. This is more than in any other Eastern European capital region and is among the highest rates in all of Europe, the European Centre for Entrepreneurship and Policy Reform (ECEPR) think-tank reported.
In total numbers, there are 285,400 brain business jobs in Warsaw. This is higher than 253 300 in Budapest, 239 300 in Bucharest, and 162 400 in Prague. In all of Europe, the highest number is in Paris, where nearly 1.3 million are employed in brain business jobs. Telecommunications is the most common brain business job in Warsaw, with 69,900 employed in companies in this sector. Additionally, 53 200 are employed in publishing, while 38 000 work in advertising & market research.
The total share of knowledge-intensive workers in Warsaw is 178% higher than the average European region. In the average European region, only 5.8% of adults work in brain business jobs.
