Without anti-inflation shield, inflation to reach 24% in Feb - Kotecki, MPC
Without an anti-inflation shield, inflation will reach 24% in February, - said Ludwik Kotecki, a member of the Monetary Policy Council (MPC), on TOK FM radio.
"This morning, we heard new information that changes the picture for next year. The president [of the Polish Development Fund (PFR)] Borys said there will probably be no anti-inflation shield next year. It means we will see a 3-4% jump in inflation at once. So, from the 20% that was supposed to be in February, it will become 24%," - Kotecki said.
Borys said on Wednesday morning that due to the fiscal situation, the government would have to stop the anti-inflationary shields.
