Women More Reliable in Loan Repayments, Study Finds

Women are significantly more reliable than men when it comes to repaying loans and other financial obligations, according to recent data from BIG InfoMonitor. Among people struggling with overdue payments – including loans, unpaid bills, or rent – women account for only 38 percent. When it comes to the value of overdue debts (above PLN 200 and delayed over 30 days), women are responsible for just 31 percent. This trend holds across multiple credit categories.
“In mortgage lending, around 4.8 percent of men struggle with repayments, compared to just 3.3 percent of women. Similarly, 7.6 percent of men face challenges with installment loans, while only 5.5 percent of women do,” Prof. Waldemar Rogowski, Chief Analyst at BIG InfoMonitor, said.
According to Prof. Rogowski, women tend to manage finances more responsibly and rationally.
“They are less driven by emotion and more by careful planning, which results in lower levels of financial distress,” he noted.
