WXCA studio has won the competition for the development of a concept for the reconstruction of the Saxon Palace (Pałac Saski) in the center of Warsaw. In total, eleven studios took part in the competition, and five qualified for the final stage. The announcement of the results took place on Thursday at the headquarters of the Association of Polish Architects (SARP).
The event began with a speech by Polish President Andrzej Duda, who introduced the history of the Saxon Palace, which was destroyed by the German occupiers during World War Two. One of the competition requirements was to clearly distinguish the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier from the rebuilt colonnade.
Second place was awarded to the team: FS&P ARCUS & K. Ingarden, J. Ewy Architects & Asman Pieniężny Architects, while LAN & P2PA secured third place.
