On September 3rd, 2024, the XXXIII edition of the Economic Forum—one of the largest and most significant economic-political events in Central and Eastern Europe—will commence at the Gołębiewski Hotel in Karpacz. Organized by the Institute for Eastern Studies, the Forum gathers leaders with influence on the fate of Poland, Europe, and the world. The main partner of the Economic Forum is the Marshal’s Office of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship. Among the Forum’s partners are the City of Karpacz, the City of Wrocław, Wrocław Copernicus Airport, and the Lower Silesian Agency for Economic Cooperation.

The XXXIII Economic Forum will take place in Karpacz from September 3-5, 2024, under the theme “The Time of New Leaders: Shaping the Future Together.” This year’s edition will feature over 6,000 guests from Poland and around the world. The Forum will include 350 debates, 6 plenary sessions, numerous discussion panels, special events, workshops, press conferences, galas, and concerts. Key media outlets will cover the event.

For three decades, the Economic Forum has become one of the most important events of its kind in eastern Europe. Forum attendees include presidents, heads of governments, ministers, politicians, local government officials, corporate executives, cultural figures, renowned scientists, influential journalists and NGO representatives. For three days, Karpacz will be a crucial venue for discussions on the major challenges shaping the present and future of Central and Eastern Europe.

Key topics at the XXXIII Economic Forum will include the impact of the war in Ukraine on global security architecture, questions related to a green future, the ethics of artificial intelligence development, and economic challenges in the third decade of the 21st century. This year’s Forum will be enriched with new attractive elements for participants, including new thematic areas, an increased number of event formats, and a special stage for major events.

During the XXXIII Economic Forum, the “SGH and Economic Forum Report 2024” will be presented. This comprehensive study on the state of the economy in Poland and Central and Eastern European countries, prepared by experts from the leading university in the country — Warsaw School of Economics — describes current socio-economic trends and phenomena, enabling leaders from various fields to make key decisions.

A regular feature of the Economic Forum is the awards given by the Forum’s Program Council to outstanding individuals and key companies and organizations in the following categories: Person of the Year, Company of the Year, and Non-Governmental Organization of the Year. The Forum also boasts a rich cultural and recreational program, including author meetings, concerts, film screenings, and presentations of tourist attractions in the Lower Silesian region.
