Zloty can gain strength in the second half of 2023

In 2022, the Polish zloty fell to record-low levels of PLN 5 versus the euro and the dollar as the war in Ukraine and the worsening economic situation prompted investors to turn to safer assets. The first half of 2023 is unlikely to bring significant changes, however, the second half of the year, could be more positive for the domestic currency, according to Cinkciarz.pl analyst Bartosz Sawicki.
“In the second part of 2023, when the inflation peaks are behind us and the global economy may start to accelerate, the zloty should become a beneficiary of capital inflows to emerging markets,” Sawicki said.
