Polish złoty has strengthened versus the dollar, moving away from PLN 5 mark - a record low level hit last week. On Tuesday morning, złoty cost PLN 4.86.
The domestic currency has also strengthened against the euro. The EUR / PLN exchange rate fell by 2.3 groszy to PLN 4.80. The risk of the euro rising to PLN 5, which only a few days ago seemed a probable scenario, has now been delayed by at least a few weeks.
Złoty has gained ground as moods have improved in the global markets in the first days of October. Domestically, the decision of the Monetary Policy Council on interest rates followed by the central bank’s head Glapiński conference this week will define złoty trajectory.
