ZUE Group signs contract with PKP PLK for PLN 2.6 bln, largest in company’s history
ZUE’s order backlog has reached a record PLN 3.7 billion as the company secures major rail contracts in Poland and expands into foreign markets, including Germany. Its latest success is winning the tender to modernize the key Gdynia Chylonia–Lębork railway section in Pomerania. The project includes rebuilding all stations, adding new stops and upgrading traction infrastructure to increase capacity. After completion, passenger trains will accelerate to 160–200 km/h, while freight speeds will rise to 120 km/h, improving access to the Tricity area and enhancing port logistics.
CEO Wiesław Nowak says the contract strengthens ZUE’s market position and leverages its extensive experience in complex, long-term rail projects. Regional authorities emphasize that ongoing multi-billion-złoty upgrades will modernize key lines and support future transport needs.
