7 Eleven wants to invest in Żabka
Żabka’s shares jumped as much as 15% after reports that Japan’s Seven & i Holdings, owner of 7-Eleven, is negotiating a major investment in the Polish convenience store group. According to Nikkei, the company may acquire a double-digit stake worth several billion złoty as part of its push to expand in Europe. Analysts said a minority investment would be unusual for Seven & i but could reflect its high debt and desire to study Żabka before making a larger commitment.
The Japanese group aims to increase its presence from 19 to 30 countries and regions by 2030. Żabka’s largest shareholder, CVC, currently holds a 37.6% stake.
