Adam Szłapka Appointed as Government Spokesperson

Prime Minister Donald Tusk officially announced today that Adam Szłapka, currently serving as Minister for European Affairs, will become the new government spokesperson at a press conference held at noon. Szłapka, born in 1984 and former leader of the Modern (.Nowoczesna) party, expressed gratitude and emphasized the ambition of his role.
“We will fight disinformation 24/7… our goal is to reach citizens through all new channels, social media, and direct engagement,” he stated.
He said a dedicated communications team will be established, coordinating across all ministries to ensure comprehensive and modern government messaging.
This appointment marks the first time since October 2023 that Poland has had an official government spokesperson. Szłapka is expected to formally assume the role after Poland’s presidency of the Council of the EU concludes at the end of June. Journalists note his close relationship with Prime Minister Tusk and describe him as a calm, reliable communicator.
