Armed forces of Poland will facilitate construction of energy infrastructure
Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz said in Świnoujście that Poland’s military will support, not obstruct, the development of energy independence, including wind power investments. Speaking at the PSEW 2026 wind energy conference, he stressed that energy security, a strong military, economic resilience and a balanced energy mix are key to national security. He said renewable energy already provided more than 30% of Poland’s electricity in 2024 and criticized opponents of wind power.
The government plans to strongly support onshore wind farm development, especially in regions such as Western Pomerania. Kosiniak-Kamysz added that although the army needs airports and strategic aviation capacity, these requirements must not block wind power projects.
