As much as 170 km of Polish coast under new supervision
Poland has restored the Maritime Office in Słupsk six years after it was abolished, giving it responsibility for about 170 km of Baltic coastline from Dźwirzyno to Łeba, including the Port of Kołobrzeg. The Ministry of Infrastructure says the move is intended to strengthen Central Pomerania and support the region’s growing role in Poland’s maritime economy. The office will oversee navigation safety, coastal protection, port development and investments related to offshore wind energy.
Officials say bringing maritime administration closer to local governments, residents and businesses should improve the implementation of major projects. The Słupsk office, headed by Anna Sędzińska, will also reduce the workload of the Maritime Office in Szczecin.
