Asians have obtained over 1/5 of all work permits this year in Poland

In the first half of 2021, 43,000 work permits were issued for citizens of Asian countries. according to the data of the Ministry of Family and Social Policy. Personnel Service experts indicate that after the turmoil related to the pandemic, the popularity of Poland as a destination for economic emigration from Asia is increasing and has a chance to return to the results recorded before Covid-19.
In the first half of this year. a work permit in Poland was granted to 43,000 people from 38 Asian countries. It is about 11,000 more than in the same period last year. Throughout 2020, such consent was obtained by over 64,000 people from 40 countries, and two years earlier – by 69,000 immigrants. The current result is over 1/5 of all 232,000. permits were granted this year. For comparison, the vast majority, 159,000 of the permits were issued to the Ukrainians.
"The data of the Ministry of Family and Social Policy for the first half of this year show a rebound related to the number of permits issued to citizens of Asian countries. Although the number of work permits for Asians decreased in the pandemic year 2020, this year we are making up for the losses. If the upward trend continues and our country is able to bear the fourth wave of coronavirus, we have a good chance of improving last year's results, and maybe even beating those from before two years. It seems all the more possible that we are dealing with a large shortage of personnel on the labor market," Krzysztof Inglot, President of the Management Board of Personnel Service, forecasted.
