Business psychologists, Małgorzata Głowacka-Pędras and Justyna Ryczko created the avigon.pl portal, which brings together specialists in psychology, psychotherapy, dietetics, sexology or coaching, offering advice via the Internet. The founders of the portal take responsibility for verifying the education and competence of specialists.
The CSO data shows that over 40 percent of Poles look for information on the internet about health, including mental health, noted Małgorzata Głowacka-Pędras, who has been following the development of the cybertherapy market for several years.
“As many as 57% of patients with mental disorders do not undergo treatment for fear of direct contact with a specialist. The solution may be online psychotherapy, which facilitates contact with a professional therapist. Without leaving home, while maintaining a high degree of anonymity, we can use professional help,” Małgorzata Głowacka-Pędras, said.
In Western European countries or the United States, which are precursors of online therapy, research to date has shown that this form of contact with a psychotherapist brings as good results as the traditional one.
