Budimex wins Rail Baltica deal
PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe has selected a consortium led by Budimex as the preferred bidder for works on the E75 Rail Baltica line. The offer is valued at PLN 4.047 billion net.
The consortium consists of Budimex, holding a 70% stake, Budimex Kolejnictwo with 5%, and PORR with 25%. The contract covers the preparation of detailed design documentation and construction works on three sections: Białystok–Knyszyn, Knyszyn–Osowiec, and Osowiec–Ełk.
The total offer includes a basic scope worth PLN 2.359 billion, a conditional component of PLN 501 million dependent on specific triggers, and additional options amounting to PLN 1.6 billion.
Works are scheduled to start immediately after contract signing and will run for 46 months. Warranty and guarantee periods are set at 72 months. The contracting authority will provide an advance payment of up to 10% of net remuneration, with payments due within 30 days of invoicing. Contractual penalties are capped at 30% of the contract value.
Budimex, listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange since 1995, has seen its market capitalisation rise 40% year-on-year to PLN 17.6 billion.
