Building material prices are rising

Compared to May last year, prices for virtually all types of construction materials increased last month - by an average of 6.5 percent. Rising prices may suggest that the pandemic trend for interior renovation and redecorating continues unabated.

Increases were recorded in 19 product groups: OSB (+36.2%), installations, heating (+10.0%), roofs, gutters (+9.7%), thermal insulation (+8.7%), drywall construction (+8.0%), garden and hobbies (+7.3%), lighting, electrical (+7.3%), automotive (+7.1%. ), tiles, bathrooms, kitchens (+5.8 percent), tools (+5.8 percent), waterproofing (+5.5 percent), furnishings, household appliances (+5.3 percent), woodwork (+4.8 percent. ), building chemicals (+4.6%), cement, lime (+4.4%), paints, varnishes (+4.2%), decorations (+4.1%), house surroundings (+3.8%), finishing works (+3.6%). The price fall occurred only in the group of walls, chimneys (-4.5 percent).
