Burger King is planning major expansion in Central and Eastern Europe through Rex Concepts, its master franchisee in Poland, the Czech Republic and Romania. According to Rex Concepts CFO Małgorzata Kloka, the chain currently has fewer than 200 restaurants across the three markets, but sees long-term potential for more than 600 locations. Growth will be driven mainly by company-owned restaurants, with franchising used selectively.

Investment costs for new locations, including fit-out and equipment, are estimated at PLN 3.0-3.8 mln per restaurant, while rent is expected to average 6-9.5% of group revenue. The company will develop drive-thru, food court, standalone and high-street formats, while testing compact sites for delivery and takeaway.
