Canada courts Polish drones
Canada is moving closer to Poland’s defence industry, with Polish drones emerging as an early area for procurement cooperation. The discussions took place during Polish-Canadian talks linked to SAFE, the European Union’s defence-financing initiative designed to strengthen industrial resilience and military readiness across allied states. Poland was also named a featured country at CANSEC, Canada’s leading defence industry fair, giving domestic manufacturers rare visibility in the North American market.
The talks underline how Poland’s defence sector has evolved from a regional supplier into a serious exporter of military technology. Drone systems are among the country’s fastest-growing specialisations as governments seek lower-cost battlefield and surveillance solutions. The growing partnership also reflects Ottawa’s effort to diversify procurement while Europe accelerates rearmament and expands cross-border defence collaboration.
