Construction of new Baltic Port for PLN 10 bln underway in Świnoujście
Construction of an access road has launched the Pomerania Cape project, a PLN 10 bln deep-water container terminal in Świnoujście. The development, described as Poland’s largest recent port investment, is intended to strengthen competition with major European ports. It will include 186 hectares of reclaimed land, nearly 3 kilometers of new quay and breakwater infrastructure, and a terminal capable of handling 2 mln TEU annually. Designed for both civilian and military use, it will serve Central European markets and accommodate three large vessels simultaneously.
The project also includes expanded rail and road links, dredging of the approach channel, zero-emission cargo-handling technologies, shore-side power, and facilities for border, customs, and sanitary services.
