Corendon Airlines Highlights European Growth Strategy at ITB Berlin

Corendon Airlines, one of Europe’s leading leisure airlines, met with industry representatives at ITB Berlin (March 3–5, 2026) to present its growth strategy for the year ahead.

Corendon Airlines Highlights European Growth Strategy at ITB Berlin

At ITB Berlin, Corendon Airlines emphasized its strategy of sustainable growth in key European markets, particularly Germany, Poland, and the United Kingdom.

Culinary Experience from Corendon Airlines

This year, Corendon Airlines also presented its innovative in-flight catering concepts at ITB Berlin. As part of a partnership launched in 2026 with Lukas Podolski's restaurant brand Mangal Döner, Mangal Lahmacun—one of the most popular flavors of Turkish cuisine, currently served on flights from Cologne/Bonn and Düsseldorf—was offered to partners and media representatives during the "Happy Hour" event organized during the trade fair. This specialty, which generated considerable interest on board, was also very well received at ITB Berlin, reflecting the brand's approach of combining destination experiences with gastronomic offerings.

Sustainable Growth Focused on Destinations

Corendon Airlines' growth plans for the 2026 summer season are based on a balanced structure based on destinations. Turkey, accounting for 50% of the total capacity, remains the most important market in the flight program, with single-digit growth. Greece, the second-largest destination, is growing by 12%, with Heraklion standing out as a key destination. Flight frequencies to Spain will increase by over 25% in the summer, while capacity to Egypt – where year-round operations are maintained – will increase by around 40% compared to 2025.

Commenting on the destination-based growth strategy, Christian Hein, Head of Sales & Marketing at Corendon Airlines, said:

"We analyze each destination based on its specific characteristics and shape capacity and operations planning accordingly. The outlook we have set for the 2026 summer season is a natural result of our sustainable and responsible approach to growth."

Strong and Deepening Structure in the DACH Region

The DACH region, encompassing Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, is one of Corendon Airlines' main source markets in Europe. A balanced growth model based on tourist and ethnic demand has been adopted throughout the region, with a particular operational depth focused on Germany.

With four main base airports in Cologne/Bonn, Düsseldorf, Hanover, and Nuremberg, Corendon Airlines maintains a strong operational structure in Germany. For the 2026 summer season, capacity from Germany is planned to increase by approximately 20%. In this context, routes from Germany to Egypt are being developed to meet tourist demand. Furthermore, direct flights to Jeddah, operated as part of the Umrah service, continue to play a significant role in the network, supported by stable, year-round demand.

In Austria, capacity is planned to increase by approximately 30% during the summer season, with frequency optimization based on demand for Turkey and Mediterranean destinations. Switzerland, on the other hand, plays a complementary role in the DACH region through a selective, stable, and balanced network structure. Christian Hein added:

"The DACH region is an area where we have been strong for many years and where we are consistently deepening our operations. Germany is the core of this region, while our sustainable growth strategy in Austria and Switzerland is being continued responsibly."

Accelerated Growth and Long-Term Vision in Poland

A strong position in the DACH region also supports Corendon Airlines' expansion efforts in Eastern Europe. In this context, Poland stands out as one of the markets where the airline has recorded consistent growth in recent years.

By strengthening its presence with flights from Warsaw and Katowice to Antalya and Crete (Heraklion), the carrier is responding to strong tourist demand in Turkey and Greece. Flights from Warsaw to Hurghada will begin in October 2026, and from Katowice in November 2026, expanding the network with new direct connections to Egypt. Each route will be operated twice a week – on Thursdays and Sundays – and operations are planned until the end of March 2027. The number of flights offered from Poland will double in 2026, and an operational base in the country is planned for 2027.

Halina Strzyżewska, Poland Country Manager at Corendon Airlines, commented:

"Poland is a market characterized by strong holiday demand and significant long-term potential. In the coming period, we will continue to expand our presence in this market in a planned and sustainable manner."
