Coworking spaces entering MICE market to challenge hotels
Coworking spaces are increasingly entering the MICE market, which has traditionally been dominated by hotels and conference centers. Thanks to flexible, less formal and more attractive interiors, they are becoming a popular alternative for conferences, workshops and business events.
According to Michał Kwinta, Managing Director of Mindspace Poland and Global Strategic Projects, event activity could become a second major pillar for the flexible office sector. Coworking operators can offer not only meeting rooms, but also lobbies, shared areas and networking zones, creating a more engaging experience for participants.
Mindspace is strongly developing this area. Its new Beyond project in Tel Aviv will allocate half of its 10,000 sqm space to event functions. Kwinta argues that coworking spaces should increasingly operate like five-star hotels, with hospitality, service quality and user experience becoming as important as office space itself. As the market matures, flex offices are expected to evolve into multifunctional business centers.
