Debt to ZUS over PLN 800 mln in premiums
Data from the ZUS shows that the number of indebted active contributors fell by 1.8% y/y to 628,300 in 2025. However, total debt increased by 6.7% y/y to nearly PLN 22.5 billion, indicating growing financial pressure among some firms.
The average debt rose to about PLN 36,000 (+5.9% y/y), while the highest single liability reached PLN 818 million. Experts note that while many debts are minor, large liabilities are concentrated in major companies and heavily impact overall figures.
At the same time, fewer companies applied for installment plans, suggesting mixed financial conditions. Overall, the data points to stabilization in the number of debtors but worsening debt levels, with some businesses struggling to meet rising contribution costs.
