New Work's 'Flex Solutions in Recession 2023' shows that in the previous decade, the flexible office market grew by an average of 30 percent y/y, until the Covid-19 pandemic hit, which halted its growth. However, another upturn came in 2021, with the rise in the popularity of remote and hybrid working.
"Demand for flexible offices is accelerating. JLL and Savills predict that the demand for such solutions will ultimately grow to 20-30 percent of the total office market. The question remains how quickly such a share will be achieved," Hubert Abt, CEO of New Work Offices, said.
Growth in this market is currently supported by, among other things, the growing popularity of remote and hybrid working, the recession, and the rapidly changing business environment, which is forcing companies to be more flexible. Also new to this market are services provided without a contract, in a subscription model, similar to, for example, Netflix.
