DSM could cause Spotify to increase rates in Poland
Spotify expressed concerns over proposed additional royalties for creators in Poland, citing the challenge of absorbing the added costs. They suggested compensating through support cuts for local artists, raising prices for Polish users, or other measures. The platform emphasized its contributions to the Polish music industry over the past 11 years, stating that imposing double payments would limit investment capacity. Spotify stressed its significant revenue share with music rights holders, arguing against the detrimental impact of the proposed regulation on the local music industry.
They urged the government to reconsider, highlighting the rejection of similar EU proposals.
