Echo owner seeks full control and delisting
Echo Investment’s controlling shareholder plans to seek full ownership of Poland’s largest developer and remove it from the Warsaw Stock Exchange. Lisala, a joint venture between Hungary’s Wing and Griffin, owns 62.37 percent of Echo and intends to offer PLN 5.20 per share for the remainder. The proposed price is 4.4 percent below Friday’s closing level and implies spending about PLN 807 million on minority shareholders in total.
The outcome will depend heavily on pension funds, including NN OFE with 9.9 percent and Allianz OFE with 9.6 percent. Echo, listed in Warsaw since 1996, reported PLN 816.5 million in first-half revenue and PLN 20.7 million in net profit. It sold 1,320 apartments and two Kraków office buildings during the period. The group is also preparing new Warsaw offices, including two buildings at Towarowa 22 and a tower at Grzybowska 53.
