Economy accelerates thanks to private consumption

Finance Minister Andrzej Domański stated that Poland’s economy is accelerating, driven by private consumption. In April 2025, retail sales rose by 7.6% y/y in constant prices, significantly surpassing analyst expectations of 3.4% and marking the highest growth in three years.
Sales increased across nearly all categories. Compared to March, sales rose 6.2% m/m. For January–April 2025, retail sales grew 3.3% y/y, though slower than the 5% seen in the same period of 2024. Seasonally adjusted data showed a 6.4% y/y and 3.5% m/m increase in April. In current prices, retail sales rose 7.9% y/y and 6.2% m/m, confirming strong consumer activity and economic momentum.
