Empik will surpass 400 stores in 2026 and plans to maintain a pace of more than 30 openings annually. Expansion is increasingly focused on smaller formats, retail parks, street locations, and towns with fewer than 10,000 residents. Stores of around 170 to 200 sq m are considered optimal for smaller markets. When selecting locations, Empik analyzes population, purchasing power, local retail potential, customer needs, online activity in the surrounding area, expected store traffic, tenant mix, and projected profitability.

Empik’s strategy combines physical retail with e-commerce, with about two-thirds of online orders collected in stores. In 2025, online sales accounted for 56% of the group’s GMV and grew 22%, while total store sales increased 9% and like-for-like sales rose 7%.
