The Polish energy company Energa Operator will invest EU grant funding into modernizing its power grid, including building and upgrading 250 km of mainly high voltage lines and replacing 41 transformers. The project, valued at about PLN 630 mln, focuses on rural areas but will also benefit cities by improving energy security and enabling more renewable connections. It is the company’s largest grant supported project, with nearly PLN 0.5 bln in funding from the National Recovery Plan.

Overall, Energa has secured over PLN 9.4 bln in loans for a broader PLN 40 bln investment program through 2035. Meanwhile, Tauron Dystrybucja will receive PLN 33.6 mln for regional grid upgrades.
