Engie’s Dąbrowice wind farm, with 36 MW capacity, now part of LFC mechanism
Engie Zielona Energia’s 36 MW Dąbrowice wind farm has begun providing balancing services through Load Frequency Control mechanisms, making it the first wind installation in Poland to do so. The project, developed in cooperation with Polish transmission system operator PSE, marks a new step in integrating renewable energy into the national grid.
The wind farm’s SCADA systems and power-control functions were upgraded to meet PSE’s technical requirements. The facility can now adjust its output automatically in response to grid signals, helping stabilize the power system during demand fluctuations or critical conditions.
Engie said the project supports its broader strategy of combining renewable generation with more flexible grid infrastructure and large-scale energy storage. The operating model developed at Dąbrowice is fully scalable, and the company plans to add more wind farms from its Polish portfolio to the balancing market.
